Project summary
PL Builders was called after a burst pipe in the master bathroom sent water into the rooms below this Menifee Lakes two-story home. The first repair estimate did not fully reflect the damage found on site, so the job required careful documentation before the repair scope could match the real conditions in the home.
Work performed
- Water damage path: The loss started in the upstairs master bathroom and affected the kitchen and finish materials below, creating a repair scope that went beyond a small patch.
- Documentation mattered: The original estimate did not fully include cabinet replacement, packout, or the full flooring replacement the home needed. PL Builders documented the affected areas with photos, measurements, and repair details so the scope could be reviewed with clearer evidence.
- Packout and repair planning: Contents had to be moved and protected so damaged areas could be accessed, repairs could be completed cleanly, and the reconstruction work could move forward without treating the job like a simple contents manipulation.
- Bathroom reconstruction: The master bathroom was rebuilt with a new vanity, jacuzzi tub area, custom marble shower, and 3/8-inch glass partition and door.
- Kitchen reconstruction: The kitchen was rebuilt with inset white shaker cabinets, quartz countertops, and a full-height backsplash for a clean finished result.
- Insurance-aware outcome: After the damage was documented properly, the approved repair scope better matched the real work needed to put the home back together.
