The call came in on a Sunday
A lot of water damage jobs get worse because everyone waits until Monday. This one could not wait. PL Builders packed out the affected areas, opened the damaged materials, and set drying equipment the same day so the structure could start drying before more damage set in.
The damage path was bigger than one bathroom
The upstairs bathroom had to be gutted where the water had affected walls, flooring, and drywall. In the loft, cabinets had to be detached so the adjoining wall could be dried properly. Those cabinets were later replaced after the damage was confirmed. The carpet and pad in the affected upstairs area also had to come out.
The kitchen below had to be protected before demo
Water also reached the kitchen ceiling. Before cutting drywall overhead, PL Builders protected the surrounding kitchen with containment, plastic, and cabinet and countertop protection. That part matters. A clean mitigation job should not create a second mess while trying to fix the first one.
The adjuster needed proof right away
On Monday morning, the adjuster called the homeowner and was given Preston's number. He called while PL Builders was still at the property and asked for photos of the work already completed.
